Let the Beautiful Game begin! World Cup SA!
I’m getting goosebumps about the World Cup tournament!!!!
It is a wonderful game with a wonderful message for our students (and to us teachers!). A chance for us to see things, our humanity, from a different angle. Let’s use the opportunity in our classes.
Lots of resources/ideas on EFL Classroom 2.0 and I’m proud of the members that have contributed and made resources. Bravo! Lots of links to other resources across the web.
Today though, I’d like to suggest using soccer commercials to get your students learning English and energized. There are so many great ones. Here are my top 20! All in a handy player. Also, see my absolute favorite – it has a great message for young children!
Which one is your favorite soccer commercial – Why?
- The commercials can be used to:
Prompt for vocabulary
For making dialogues
For describing (one of a pair describes to someone with their back turned)
To introduce and discuss issues
To describe actions/verbs.
To talk about media literacy issues, fact or fiction too.
To prepare students to make their own commercial.
So many other ways and here is a handy Commercial viewing organizer.
