The Power of the Personal

tefl brochureI just read this amazing blog post about the best things a blogger can do to be successful. Amazing! (thanks Larry F.). I’d love to sit down and have coffee with this guy. He hits many nails on the head and the point that most impressed me was “being personal”. I’ve always championed this to teachers – it is fundamental to good teaching. But it also applies to blogging. So here is a little more about me! Check out more about my life and what I’m into. This photo is me, circa 1998 – on the brochure, advertising our school’s TEFL Certificate course. Apt photo given all my travels and teaching!

Thank you to the people who gave me feedback on my personal page. Invaluable!

The journey is always just starting! I’m looking forward to chopping wood in Canada although several offers have come up recently and I’ll have to do that half time!

Picasa makes a great slideshow I think. Recommend for teachers to post online for their students/colleagues/PLN to see more of the personal. I’ll have to post about the “hack” so you can slow down how fast it shows the photos in slideshows that are embedded…. that’s a must, otherwise the slideshow goes too fast if you add subtitles/captions.
