I’ve long loved and supported the use of music in the language classroom. Check out my very popular guide or also any of my karaoke related posts here.
Dubsmash is a very popular app where students lipsynch to popular movie lines, song lyrics and more … It’s highly addictive, simple to use, shareable and perhaps a fun activity teachers can do in class. Get students sharing the videos and at the same time they’re learning English, especially focusing on pronunciation/articulation.
Try it out, I think your digitally literate students will love this! This youtube video I put together shows the most popular song tracks used by Dubsmashers. A good starting place for your students to begin recording. Also, check out the new music video lessons we’ve made available on EnglishCentral! Here’s a great one.
Here are some Dubsmashes I edited together featuring some great lines.
